Ways to the Past. The Road by Christopher Hadley

A local Roman road that has all but disappeared is brought back to life by Christopher Hadley in his book The Road, (a Times Book of the Year).  He gathers traces of archaeology, history and landscape from poems, church walls, hag stones and things buried too deep for archaeology.  In his talk ‘Ways to the Past’, he will discuss researching and writing the book.
