In this photograph of the front of the building the Vicarage is now the private residence of the de Bruyne family who owned the Swaine Adeney leather goods factory behind School Street. It was variously named Hall Yard, Chesterford Hall and finally Bishop’s House referring to the fact that a former Vicar, the Rev Charles Bromfield became Bishop of Chester. For more information on Bishop’s House and other buildings see “House Histories of the Chesterfords” available from the Society. Photograph taken from Hello Magazine, Sept 16, 1995.
