Receipt recording the payment of £88 to Mr Edwin Bentley for work he had completed to a marble cross in the Churchyard, presumably the War Memorial.  It was paid on 16th December 1944 by Mrs Griggs.  Mr Bentley was a builder, wheelwright and undertaker living on South Road, having taken over the business in the 1940s from Henry Abram. The buildings later became John Moore’s printing works, now Granta House.
